American Education Week is November 11-17 - Theme: Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility.
NEA's 86th annual American Education Week (AEW) spotlights the importance of providing every child in America with a quality public education and the need for everyone to do his or her part in making public schools great.
Here are some of the activities NEA will organize throughout the week:
Take Your Parents to School Day (Tuesday, November 13). To promote parental involvement, NEA is encouraging schools to invite parents into the classroom for a firsthand look at what the day is really like for their child.

Reading Matters - The Massachusetts Teachers Association, in conjunction with Staples, has established this site to promote reading and literacy among Massachusetts children. This Web site has reading tips, activities, and links to a wealth of resources to help promote reading, in addition to providing details about the MTA Red Sox Reading Game contest.
